An original drama but with added comedic value; the show illustrates realistic issues that many young people face on a daily basis, such as deep, personal family issues and coming out as gay. Featured on the ABC and now available to watch on Netflix, Thomas' series is aimed towards teenagers and young adults in particular due to the nature of the subjects that are featured within the series. In the very first episode, the viewer is confronted with Thomas' mother trying to commit suicide as she struggles with the idea that her ex-husband has left her.
