A show perfect for Friday night stay ins.

A must see show for young people.

Brooklyn nine-nine is an American sitcom based on the fictional 99th police precinct based in Brooklyn, especially revolving around the main character, Jake Peralta played by the amazingly funny, Andy Samberg. This show was renewed for a fifth season which premiered on the 26th  September 2017. It is a satire comedy type show perfect for teenagers/young adults to watch on a night in.

The show focuses mainly on one cop, the young and lovable Jake Peralta, whos dream is to live out the Die Hard movies and will definitely win you over with his childish charm. He is seen as one of the best detectives in the precinct as he never takes life or his job too seriously. He cares deeply for his friends and is willing to do anything for them.
The precinct also includes detectives;

  • Amy Santiago, the book nerd who lives to impress her captain.
  • Rosa Diaz, the bad-ass cop who rides a motorbike and doesn't let anyone bother her.
  • Charles Boyle, Jake's sweet best friend who looks out for everyone else before himself.
  •  Terry Jeffords aka "Sarge" the Sergent of the precinct who loves his yogurt (a reoccurring catchphrase for him) and looks out for all of the other detectives as he is like a father figure to them.
  • Gina Lenetti, the openly sardonic and sarcastic administrator of the precinct.
  •  Captain Raymond Holt, the openly gay captain of the precinct who is far from any gay stereotype seen in television before.

Not only is Brooklyn nine-nine bound to give you heaps of laughs with the different antics of each character, but it is also a coming of the age show as is differentiates itself from the different cop shows out there. It does this by having an openly gay main character and a diverse cast which includes people of different ethnicity's.

So whether its Jakes funny, childish  antics, Gina's amazing one liners and comebacks or the love between Terry and his yogurt, Brooklyn nine-nine will definitely not disappoint and will bring many smiles and laughs to its audience. A 5/5 comedy show perfect for a Friday night of just chilling at home.
